A CHARITY is inviting elderly people in Worcester to join it on a tour of the World Wide Web.

The group is running a free taster session on Friday, May 16, as part of the month-long Silver Surfers Festival.

The national scheme aims to encourage older people to discover how the internet can help them with various projects, from tracing family trees to learning a new skill.

Research by the group shows that only 17 per cent of people aged 65 and over have tried the internet.

"Age Concern internet taster sessions are something quite different because they are run by older people for older people, providing free access in a friendly, social environment," said a charity spokesman.

To book a place at one of the sessions, call Angie Harris on 01905 726652.
