SOLIHULL are hoping to upset the odds yet again when they take on higher division Old Yards in the North Midlands Shield final on Sunday.

The newly-crowned North Midlands One champions take on their Powergen Midlands West Four South opponents at Stourbridge Rugby Club (ko 1pm).

Richard Gamlin's side continued their meteoric rise up the rugby ladder by winning their third successive title and promotion this season but have yet to add a knockout trophy to their bulging trophy cabinet.

They have already taken notable scalps from the league they are moving up to in this year's competition, and are hoping to bag their first trophy to cap an impressive season for the Portway tenants.

Solihull have already won one important battle after gaining permission to be promoted to the Southern section of the Midlands Four West League.

Officials were thinking about sending them into the Northern division but relented after Solihull said they were prepared to appeal.

And Robbins is optimistic the club's rise and rise is not over yet.
