DEAR EDITOR -- Hopefully, the misery of those of us who live near to the many developers' building sites for new flats and houses with their constant noise and destruction of once treasured familiar and pleasant views, creating a kind of visual mugging, will be over.
When the influx of new Droitwich residents becomes a reality, they might ask us where they can buy a pair of sheets, visit a health food shop, perhaps a small specialist food shop etc.
Sadly, we will have to suggest they look further afield. But if by any chance they wish to purchase an occasional greetings card or a cuddly toy - we can tell them to look no further. Droitwich has shops stuffed with them.
Salters Shopping Centre has spawned yet another one, larger than the already established ones.
Is Droitwich Spa aiming to be the greetings card-cuddly toy centre of the county?
Not quite John Corbett's vision I would imagine. Considering the loss of much that gave this town its individuality he might think we were slipping rapidly 'below the salt'.
