Stay safe at home

A DROITWICH children's centre in will host a special free course next week to help families stay safe in their homes.

The course at The WANDs Children's Centre, in Farmers Way, takes place on Monday, July 6, between 1pm and 3pm.

It will give tips and advice to families on how to keep their homes as safe as possible for children under-five, the common causes of accidents and how to avoid them. A free crèche and safety pack will be available on the day.

Judy Mayo, Worcestershire County Council's WANDs Children's Centre manager, said: "Over 40 per cent of all childhood accidental injuries occur at home and they are the second biggest killer of children in the UK. Spreading the message about preventing accidents, in a relaxed and informal way, is one of our most important services to try and make sure families stay safe."

WANDs supports Families in all aspects of family life and anyone with a child under five-years-old can become a member. For more information contact the WANDs Children's Centre on 01905 827391.
