LEDBURY Swimming Pool is reminding swimmers they only have two weeks left to sign up for the world’s biggest fundraising swim for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Swimathon 2009 will be taking place from between Thursday, April 16 and Sunday, April 19 in more than 500 pools across the UK.
Entrants will be able to make a difference by taking part at local pools and raising money to help Marie Curie Cancer Care support and care for thousands of terminally ill patients.
Over the past two years, 30,000 swimmers have taken part in Swimathon and have raised more than £3 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation.
Swimmers can challenge themselves to the ultimate 5K (3.1 mile) challenge, 2.5K (1.5 mile) for the intermediate swimmer or 1.5K (0.9 mile) for those who swim occasionally.
For those interested in joining forces with friends, colleagues or family, the 5K challenge can also be completed as part of a team with up to five people.
