THESE two girls are the latest entrants who are hoping they have enough style, sophistication and stamina to be crowned Miss Worcester.

Time is almost up for anyone who wants to join them and stand the chance of representing the city in the prestigious Miss England competition. The deadline for entries is 5pm tomorrow.

Miss Worcester 2009 will be held at Worcester Racecourse on Wednesday, May 20.

It will coincide with an evening race meeting and the contestants will help to lead out the horses. Contestants will have to dress for a day at the races and take part in a talent section as well as be interviewed by a competition host.

Age: 18
Lives: St John’s, Worcester
Achievements: “I am currently in the second year of a performing arts course. I enjoy performing, especially when I acted in the television series Hollyoaks. I have also done a number of shows and performances.”
Talents: “Dancing, singing, acting, stand-up comedy shows, and teaching dance classes.”
Ambitions: “To teach dance, perform on stage, help others who are less fortunate and make people smile and laugh.”

Hayley Clay
Age: 19
Lives: Dines Green, Worcester
Achievements: “I am a qualified hairdresser and I have passed my driving test.”
Talents: “I am good at cutting people’s hair.”
Ambitions: ”I have always said I would like to be a hairdresser to the stars so I’m still working towards that. I would like to see the world as well, especially America.”
