Review:

Wildmoor Spa is a luxurious spa and health club, set in idealic surroundings, on the outskirts of Stratford upon Avon. It is within easy access for people in Worcestershire.

There’s lots on offer at Wildmoor Spa and when you arrive the staff are professional, friendly and very helpful. I can see why the Spa was awarded ‘Day Spa of the Year' in 2007.

We arrived at 12.30pm and were shown to the lounge where we were both offered a complimentary drink. Before our treatments were were given a tour of the spa facilities and the gym and outdoor tennis courts.

The menu has a great selection of healthy meals and drinks on offer and all reasonably priced. I opted for the bacon, mushroom and spinach risotto and asked for chicken to be added which was no problem, and Stephanie had the chicken penne pasta in a basil pesto sauce. Both meals were freshly cooked and brought over to the table with our drinks, two fresh orange and mango fruit juices. The meals and drinks came to about £17.

We had booked to try out the Elemis face and body sensation, a choice of two treatments - the unique Re-Enegiser, an ‘ice-cold thermal’ massage which relieves stress tension and eases aching muscles, which Stephanie had or the Tranquility, a ‘therma soothing massage’ to induce a deep level or relaxation and calm the mind, which I had. Both the treatments lasted 55 minutes, (the massage being 30 minutes and the facial being 25 minutes).

Both treatments incorporated body scrub, brushing and using hot stones for a really deep massage.

Jo was my therapist and she used the Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt oil which was heated and then massaged into the skin after the the body brushing and then the hot stones were used to massage my skin. The stones used for this treatment are basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. This massage was deeply soothing and relaxing and the heat from the stones helped to release my tight muscles. As the stone cools, the therapist replaced it with another. This deep massage created a sensation of warmth, total relaxation and comfort. Next I had the anti-ageing facial, where I had the rehydrating rose petal cleanser, rehydrating ginger toner followed by the pro-collagen Quartz lift mask, which left my skin soft, rehydrated and glowing. The product ranged used is Elemis, which all the products used for your treatment can be purchased from the spa.

Stephanie had the R-energiser, which incorporates cold gel and hot stones to give a contrasting massage. The skin is exfoliated and massaged with warm oil before an ice-cold gel is smoothed over the body. This is then followed by a hot stone massage. The treatment was performed by Leigh, who immediately put her at ease and talked her through the different stages.

The contrast between hot and cold stimulates the skin and muscles and leaves you feeling extremely relaxed. She was then wrapped in warm towels while Leigh applied the facial, which left her skin glowing.

Whilst at Wildmoor Spa you can experience the crystal steam room, herbal sauna, caldarium, this was very nice and relaxing, hydrotherapy spa, 20m swimming pool, relaxation rooms and feature showers.

If you are still feelilng energetic then you can also try the extensive health and fitness facilities. Wildmoor Spa uses the latest Technogym equipment where you are given your own personalised ‘Wellness Key’, which is programmed for your own individual work out by just placing the key into each piece of equipment, this is great as it means that you do not have to carry a workout card around with you. There are also three studios where you can also have a go at Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Body pump, Body combat, Aqua aerobics and Kinesis. Outside there are full sized tennis courts where you can practice and play the game.

We both left Wildmoor Spa, feeling totally relaxed, refreshed and completely rejuvenated.
