A new scheme to aid families in transitioning to reusable nappies has been initiated in Worcestershire.

The project, spearheaded by Worcestershire County Council in conjunction with The Nappy Lady as part of Reusable Nappy Week, grants families a £30 contribution towards buying reusable nappy alternatives.

The goal is to offer flexibility to families to reduce the everyday eight million nappies disposed of in the UK, equating to around 400,000 tonnes of waste per annum.

Wendy Richards, the founder of The Nappy Lady, said: "We are excited to be working with Worcestershire residents, supporting families who are considering reusable nappies and helping to reduce their waste.

"With over 25 years’ experience, we pride ourselves on the advice and service we offer our clients, in both choosing and using their reusable products.

"We offer the largest range of reusable cloth nappies in the UK, so it is the ideal partnership with Worcestershire County Council."

Guidance on moving towards reusable nappies is available at The Nappy Lady's website.

To benefit from the £30 cashback offer, families can visit the county council's website and fill in the form, submitting a copy of their baby’s birth certificate or a MAT-B1 form.
