TWO flood alerts are in place on Worcestershire rivers after heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency has placed two alerts saying flooding is possible on the river Salwarpe and river Avon warning people to 'be prepared'.
It warns that river Salwarpe's levels are rising at the Harford Hill river gauge, near Ombersley, on Sunday (March 17) as a result of heavy rainfall.
"We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Catshill to Hawford.
"Other areas that may be affected include Stoke Heath, Elmley Lovett, Droitwich Spa and Ombersley."
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours.
Incident response staff are clearing weed screens.
The Avon's levels are also rising at the Evesham river gauge affecting low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.
Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road may also be affected.
Evesham is predicted to peak at 1.8m to 2.2m this evening.
"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences."
