Shakespeare's Macbeth coming to The Norbury Theatre

The 400-year old play will be produced by the recently formed Grove Productions.

It is its second show since it made its debut with Super Normal.

Now, Shakespeare's Macbeth is to be staged in March and April.

Grove Productions’ tour includes an exclusive edition for school-aged children before the public performance.

The cast includes Joseph Harradine, Joy-Amy Wigman, Moa Myerson, Alex Lake, Charlotte Swarbrick, Peter D Vicson, Lauren Holland, Stephen Santouris, and Lucy Wordsworth.

Mr Lake is a former student of the University of Worcester, while Ms Myerson belongs to RGS Worcester alumni, and Ms Swarbrick resides in Worcester.

The show is set to offer an amalgamation of the original text penned by Shakespeare, stirring performances, innovative technical elements, and imaginative interpretation of the classic tragedy.

Paul Avery, the director of the play, underlined the mission of Grove Productions to "create things of beauty using traditional models, modern techniques and ground-breaking innovation".

He also explained the 'for schools' initiative of the company's tour: "Grove Productions Schools Programme produces professional plays designed to cater to the unique requirements of secondary schools."

This presentation of Macbeth promises to showcase strong performances from a cast having roots in both Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

In Mr Avery's words: "This isn't just a run of the mill T.I.E piece, our aim is to produce a real piece of quality theatre."

Public performances are scheduled to take place on April 12th and at The Norbury Theatre.
