FAIRFIELD Villa kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Studley.
The Midland Combination Division One side gave a good account of themselves against their Midland Alliance opponents.
Villa boss Paul Oakes has made three signings over the summer.
Cousins Craig and Lewis Cosgrove are on board, while ex-Feckenham and Studley player Scott Walsh has signed.
Villa are also in talks with Pilkington centre-half Martin Keight and hope to have an answer from the player this week.
Club captain Carl Dainter has retired from football.
Pre-season continues for Villa tonight (Tuesday) with a home game against Oldbury.
The Stourbridge Road side then travel to Feckenham on Saturday, before hosting Greenhill next Tuesday and Enville on Saturday August 2.
The warm-up fixtures are then rounded off with the club's traditional pre-season clash with Bromsgrove General, which takes place on August 5.
