The UK's leading full mask theatre company has received a grant of £20,000 to fund its creative learning programme over the next two years.

The funds, received from Garfield Weston Foundation, will back a range of initiatives under Vamos Theatre's programme.

Renowned for its award-winning productions, the Worcester-based theatre company tours both nationally and internationally.

This financial boost will substantially boost and expand the company's creative learning programme.

It will support its central programme, providing weekly drama sessions for adults and young people alike with learning disabilities within Worcestershire county.

The funding will also assist Emerging Artists, an annual training programme for fresh university graduates who are stepping into their professional careers.

The company will also be able to further develop its digital learning resources.

Vamos Theatre’s creative producer Honor Hoskins expressed her gratitude and excitement regarding the grant, saying: "We are over the moon to be successful in receiving a grant from Garfield Weston Foundation to support our Creative Learning Programme which is continually being delivered in conjunction with our touring work.

"The backing of Garfield Weston Foundation is a huge boost for us, and these funds will be far-reaching, helping to create opportunities for a wide range of people and communities".

She continues: "We know from our ongoing work that interaction with the arts has a hugely positive effect on people’s wellbeing, confidence and life-skills, and we’d like to thank Garfield Weston for helping us deliver this important work."
