MEMBERS of the town's Norbury Theatre are working to organise a special arts day in Droitwich.
The Friar Street venue has teamed up with Wychavon District Council to produce the Droitwich Spa Arts 4 All event.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the local arts scene to make its mark in Droitwich Spa and to be seen and heard collectively."
Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon
Local artists and arts groups are being invited to a meeting at The Norbury Theatre, on Wednesday, July 16, from 7.15pm to find out more about the event and how they can get involved.
Droitwich Spa Arts 4 All is set to take place on Saturday, November 8, from 12noon-5pm. It will be free of charge and open to everyone.
The event will be an opportunity to find out about the local arts scene through different workshops, performances and exhibitors and a chance to find out more about the Norbury Theatre.
Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon, said: "We did a similar event in Evesham and nearly thirty local arts groups and individual artists exhibited at the event and more than 500 people attended, so it was really a great success, which we hope to repeat.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for the local arts scene to make its mark in Droitwich Spa and to be seen and heard collectively. It's great for people to find out what's available for children, young people and adults. Getting involved in the arts is a brilliant way to meet new people, make new friends, develop confidence and express yourself."
If you would like to attend the meeting, or to register your interest, then please let Jenny Davis know on 01386 565396 or email jenny.davis@wychavon.gov.uk
