TWO Spa schoolgirls have made it through to the regional final of an engineering skills contest.

Jessica Mason, aged 11, and ten-year-old Eleanor Kinsman, from Dodderhill School, will represent Hereford and Worcester in the final of a national competition, sponsored by K'nex, at the University of Birmingham later this month.

The pair won their area challenge at the University of Worcester when they designed and built a crane to lift a shoe to a height of 29cm.
