A Stourbridge teenager has admitted causing the death of 20-year-old Ellie Underhill who suffered fatal injuries when she fell from the bonnet of a moving car in Dudley.

Ellie, aged 20, was perched on a silver Vauxhall Corsa while she was driven around the car park outside Tesco Extra in Dudley on December 26, 2016.

Driver Luke Hickman, aged 19, was charged with manslaughter following the incident but today admitted a lesser charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

A Brierley Hill man who filmed two dogs attacking a caged fox in his back garden has been jailed for 22 weeks.

John Thomas Gough, of Byron Street, was also banned from keeping animals for life after he pleaded guilty to one charge of causing a fight between a dog and fox and two charges of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, at Birmingham Magistrates Court.

The court was told the 26-year-old used his mobile phone to video two dogs attacking a fox, which had been trapped in a cage.

A “dangerous” Oldbury man who brutally raped a terrified young mother on a canal towpath on Valentine's Day has been locked up for 12 years.

Luke Reynolds used a false name when he met the woman and after they exchanged text messages he took her to a secluded spot where he threw her to the floor and carried out the savage sex attack.

Judge Barry Berlin told the 27-year-old it was clear he posed a significant risk of causing harm to women and young girls after hearing how he also tried to have sex with a 15-year-old schoolgirl after taking her back to his flat.

Nearly 13 years of additional imprisonment were handed to inmates at HMP Hewell in 2016 and 2017 for breaking the rules.

A total of 2,220 additional days were imposed on prisoners at the Tardebigge prison in 2016, with a further 2,496 handed out in 2017, the Howard League for Penal Reform revealed today (August 13).

Across England and Wales, the total number of additional days handed down has more than doubled in three years – from fewer than 160,000 in 2014 to almost 360,000 in 2017.

A car used to transport wheelchair users has been stolen from a Kidderminster care home today (August 13) during an early morning raid.

Police slammed the “stupidity” of the theft from Brinton Care Home in Stourport Road at around 6am this morning and urged anyone with information to come forward.

It is believed the burglars climbed over the garden fence to gain access to the property.
