US president Donald Trump has landed in the UK on Air Force One on the first day of his visit.

The president and his wife received an honour guard at Stansted Airport.

Donald Trump said earlier that he thinks the UK people “like him a lot”, believing a lot of the country agrees with him on immigration.

A NEW dessert is sure to tingle the taste buds of fans of traditional Scottish breakfast fare – square sausage ice cream.

Dairy firm Glen Urr has joined forces with Apex Hotels to reinvent the breakfast favourite, which will be on sale to celebrate National Ice Cream Day on Sunday at the chain’s Grassmarket hotel in Edinburgh.

The square sausage ice cream is served inside a brioche bun with toffee drizzle, giving the impression it is covered in brown sauce.

A TOP-ranking officer has apologised after it was revealed police securing Donald Trump’s visit to the UK were being forced to sleep in conditions described as an “absolute disgrace”.

Hundreds of officers were to sleep in cramped lines of camp beds filling a vast gymnasium and sleeping mats on the floor of squash courts between long shifts policing the US president’s trip.

Essex Police’s Assistant Chief Constable Pippa Mills admitted the conditions were unacceptable and apologised to the officers, promising to rectify the situation.
