THREE flying mini Morgan cars and a full-size model festooned with flowers will create a truly wow factor in a new feature at this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival.

The Great Pavilion of Arts and Flowers will have a truly Worcestershire theme with four local organisations represented – Morgan Motor Company, the Museum of Royal Worcester, the Cottage in the Wood hotel and restaurant and RHS Malvern – to celebrate their contribution to British heritage.

The full-sized Morgan centrepiece display has been crafted by floral designer Jonathan Moseley and will use a kaleidoscope of flowers.

Jonathan said: “Inspired by speed and style, I am delighted to be creating a spectacular floral installation in the exciting new pavilion at RHS Malvern.

“This area of the show focuses on the best of style, both traditional and contemporary. Working with sculptural exotic flowers fused with locally grown seasonal blooms, this unique floral display will spill opulently from within an iconic Morgan Roadster. My design is all about style, drama and excitement.”

Steve Morris, managing director of the family-owned manufacturer, said: “The Great Pavilion of

Art and Flowers is such an exciting new addition to RHS Malvern, we’re delighted to be at the heart of it. We can’t wait to see the flower-dressed Morgan - it’s going to be spectacular.”

This year’s festival also aims to reflect the Great Exhibition of 1851 at the Crystal Palace and exhibits from the Museum of Royal Worcester as well as information relating to the porcelain firm’s presence at the Great Exhibition will be there for visitors to see.

Museum director Amanda Savidge said: “It is a huge privilege for the Museum of Royal Worcester to exhibit alongside Morgan Motor Company to represent iconic English brands conceived and manufactured in Worcestershire.

“Royal Worcester exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851 and the factory artists are famed for their exquisite reproduction of English flora and fauna. The Great Pavilion of Art and Flowers at RHS Malvern forms the perfect backdrop to display their skills and pay tribute to their works.”

Taking up a place at the heart of the Malvern pavilion, The Cottage in the Wood lounge will offer an imaginative selection of tasting dishes produced with fresh and local ingredients as well as exquisite cocktails.

Hotel owners Nick and Julia Davies said: “Nestled in the hills, The Cottage in the Wood offers a direct view over RHS Malvern so creating The Cottage in the Wood Lounge at the heart of the show’s new centrepiece produces beautiful symmetry.”

The 33rd RHS Malvern Spring Festival takes place Thursday May 10 to Sunday May 13 at the Three

Counties Showground.

Visitors can look forward to RHS gold medal-winning show gardens and an array of award-winning specialist nurseries showing and selling plants.

Head of RHS Malvern Spring Festival Diana Walton, said: “Many of our visitors head straight for the Floral Marquee as soon as they arrive. They know it’s their first chance to stock up their borders at the start of the growing season and immerse themselves within a sensory extravaganza of colour and scent.

“Following last year’s astounding success, we ran out of nursery places in record time which tells us not only how fantastic this space is for our visitors but also how successful it is for our nurseries.”
