A FORMER pub in Droitwich could be demolished to make way for a new 70-bed care home.

The Spring Meadow in Mulberry Tree Hill - which has been boarded up since 2014 - could be bulldozed under plans submitted by Frontier Estates Ltd to Wychavon District Council, bringing up to 70 new jobs.

The plans for the care home and car park will be heard by the district council's planning committee on Thursday (March 8).

The current part single, part two-storey structure was built in the 1980s and the proposed care home will be spread across three floors, including a cafe, hair salon, cinema, activity space and gym.

The developers say the build will bring around 70 full-time and part-time jobs in a range of positions from administration and maintenance to care and management.
