Two teenagers have been charged after a police officer was threatened with a gun while responding to reports of a burglary in Stourbridge.

Police were alerted to reports of a crime in progress in Park Street at around 10.15pm on Saturday (November 18) and a female PC reportedly came face to face with an armed man.

A toddler has been taken to hospital after her pushchair was reportedly hit by a lorry in Dudley this afternoon (Monday November 20).

The incident happened near to Cousins furniture store on the A461 Duncan Edwards Way just after 2.30pm.

Dudley Council's leader has hailed news of a £250million investment to extend the Midland Metro to Brierley Hill as "a real game changer" for the borough.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced a multi-million pound investment would be made to the West Midlands Combined Authority to improve transport infrastructure and Mayor Andy Street has today confirmed he will use it to fund the long-awaited Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Midland Metro extension.

The long-awaited extension will run through Dudley to the DY5 Enterprise Zone at The Waterfront at Brierley Hill - linking both towns to the rail network for the first time since the 1960s.

It will be Old Hill’s turn to be lit up this weekend as the switch is flicked at the annual Christmas lights event.

Once again hosted by Holy Trinity Church, families attending the Old Hill Christmas lights switch-on on Saturday (November 25) will be treated to some wonderful festive music courtesy of the Halesowen Brass Band.

A teacher from Bromsgrove is set to be sacked, after repeatedly asking a 13-year-old girl, played by a vigilante 'paedophile hunter', to send him intimate pictures of herself online.

Timothy Lloyd, of Bewell Head, was arrested after a mob shouting 'paedophile' turned up at his former home in Coventry, where his wife and children lay in bed.

Alvechurch forward Daniel Dubidat became an internet sensation after his wonder strike winner against Sheffield FC.

Dubidat hit a double as Church secured a 3-2 win in their EvoStik Southern League clash on Saturday.

A total of 159 firearms have been handed in during the first week of a firearms surrender campaign by West Mercia Police.

The campaign is part of a national initiative to reduce gun crime and will run across the Warwickshire and West Mercia Police area until Sunday, November 26.
