ONLINE jihadist content attracts more clicks in Britain than any other country in Europe, a major new report warns.

Analysts found Islamic State (IS) was still pumping out vast volumes of internet propaganda despite coming under intense military pressure in Iraq and Syria.

Experts say the group produces around 100 pieces of new content in an average week – but this is a conservative estimate. The in-depth study by think tank Policy Exchange says tens of thousands of users access jihadist material online from all over the globe.

HURRICANE Maria has intensified into a “potentially catastrophic” category five storm as it continues on a collision course with British overseas territories already battered by Irma.

The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said the hurricane, which has recorded winds of more than 160mph, is likely to remain “extremely dangerous” when it approaches the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Emergency steps are being undertaken on the BVI to prepare for the looming onslaught, although an official coordinating the operation has warned the islands had been “weakened” by Irma and the situation “doesn’t look good”.

A POLICE and crime commissioner and a chief constable have warned the Government they are facing a “tipping point” in funding.

Sue Mountstevens, police and crime commissioner for Avon and Somerset, and the force’s chief constable Andy Marsh have said that further cuts to budgets would lead to “extremely serious consequences”.

Last week the pair wrote to Nick Hurd, the police and fire minister, sending him a copy of a report they had written about the difficulties they face in Avon and Somerset.

DETECTIVES have been granted more time to question two young men held in raids over the Parsons Green terror attack.

An 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old, identified by his employers as Yahyah Farroukh, were arrested on Saturday over Friday morning’s bomb attack on a London Underground train.

Scotland Yard said magistrates had granted warrants allowing the 18-year-old to be held until Saturday September 23, and Farroukh until Thursday September 21.
