THE driver of a camper van which dramatically burst into flames in Stourbridge yesterday has told the News of his ‘lucky’ escape.

Michael Powditch, aged 48, was driving along Red Hill on Tuesday lunchtime (July 26) when his van suddenly went up in flames.

THE family of a Redditch teenager killed on the Coventry Highway have launched a campaign to install crash barriers on all of the district’s dual carriageways, asserting that his tragic death could have been prevented had they already been in place.

Oliver Paul Sellers, known as Ollie, died after a two-car collision on the A4023 Coventry Highway in Redditch on May 27.

A FATHER-OF-TWO who attacked another man in the doorway of his Bromsgrove home has been jailed.

Jonathan Ratcliff, of Burcot Lane, 'had a grudge' against Kaine Coventry, and enlisted the help of a friend as he visited the victim's home nearby, knocked him to the ground and punched and kicked him in the head.

'EXTREME concerns’ have been raised by a county council regarding the proposed traffic management system on the M5 during work to repair Oldbury viaduct.

Highways England has reduced the M5 down to one lane northbound at the M42 interchange near Bromsgrove to deter traffic from using the M5, hoping that northbound motorists will instead travel via the M42 to the M6.
