FOUR schools and a residential home will part in the Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival.
Event organisers linked up local chefs with local schools with the emphasis on local food and ingredients and the importance of preparation and cooking rather than just getting a take away or ready meal from the supermarket.
The first one of these will take place on Thursday, May 18, with six children from Westlands School, in Droitwich Spa going to the Vernon Arms in Hanbury.
They will watch a demonstration by the chefs there and will then have a go at making their own pizzas.
Thirty two children from year 4 at St Josephs Primary School in Droitwich Spa will welcome a chef from Bullocks Galleria to help children to make an Italian pasta dish.
In June, the Pre-school group at the Droitwich Spa Methodist Church and also Blue Giraffe Nursery, will take part by making lollipops.
Finally The Residential home at Newlandhurst are planning a BBQ with staff from Deliciously Squared in June or July.
