A RUNAWAY pig stopped traffic for more than an hour on a motorway last night (Tuesday, April 11) before being captured by police.
The animal was spotted walking down the M62 carriageway between junctions 28 and 29 near Leeds on Tuesday evening.
West Yorkshire Police Dog Support Unit was sent to the scene and the escaped pig was taken away in a police van, Highways England said.
The organisation said their traffic officers arrived and closed the road at 7.22pm after receiving a call from police at 7.05pm about a pig on the hard shoulder.
