A NAKED man who trashed his friend’s flat before running into a garden and howling like a wolf claims to have no memory of the event.

Lodger Jack Cooper caused more than £4,300 damage to the flat which he left “looking like a bomb site”.

District Judge John Woollard said the only explanation was Cooper was drunk, psychotic or on drugs.

Cooper had previously admitted criminal damage and returned to Colchester Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced.

Cooper, 35, of Flowerpot Lane, Long Stratton, was staying with a friend in Jade Gardens, Colchester, when he went on the rampage.

Stephen Sparkes, prosecuting, said: “He was described as ‘shouting, screaming and howling like a wolf’.”

The court heard Cooper had been out and consumed four or five pints but was not drunk because he was working the next day. He claimed his drink must have been spiked.

Cooper said: “I am just sorry for everything that has happened and I do appreciate what everyone has done for me.”
