OPPOSITION leaders on Dudley Council have vowed to block plans to hike up council tax by almost five per cent.

Dudley UKIP leader, Councillor Paul Brothwood, and Dudley Conservative group leader, Councillor Patrick Harley, have confirmed they will not support the Labour group’s bid to increase council tax by 4.99 per cent.

A STOURPORT couple are backing an appeal to raise £60,000 for a new bereavement suite in the maternity unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Becky Yarranton and her partner Paul Dancyger, from Stourport, are supporting the fundraising campaign, having benefitted from the existing facilities at the hospital in January 2016, following the stillbirth of their son, Henry.

TRIBUTES have been paid to world class Brierley Hill hairdresser Trevor Leddington who has died at the age of 74.

The award-winning hair stylist, who worked alongside top names Vidal Sassoon, Raymond and Trevor Sorbie during his lengthy career, died on February 8 - five months after being diagnosed with cancer.
