LUDLOW hockey player Stu Richards required medical attention after being struck in the face during the weekend’s clash with Bromsgrove.

The contest was delicately poised at 2-2 with the hosts taking the lead through James Pratt before Bromsgrove battled back to lead.

Brenden Pratt levelled matters but match was abandoned with 30 minutes played following the injury to Richards and has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 6 (1pm) at Much Wenlock.

Fast attacking play from newcomer Matthew Jones inspired Ludlow Fathom’s 9-0 victory over Tamworth.

Debutant Jones rattled in four goals and had a helping hand in the hat-trick scored by Ben Crump and George Wood’s double.

Tamworth deserved credit for some plucky play and the scoreline did not reflect how much the away side had put into the game but Ludlow were a constant menace in attacking areas.

Tenbury’s ladies fought back from behind to register a 4-2 win at Redditch.

Goals from Lisa Stokes and Gemma Toms saw Tenbury fight back from an early deficit but Redditch levelled before half-time.

However, Tenbury moved up a gear in the second half and another strike from Toms and a converted penalty corner from Emily Davis sealed the victory.
