A HEART support group has given a defibrillator to a cardiac exercise class at St Peter's Church Hall.

Trevor Cooper, president of Worcester Heart Support Group, presented the defibrillator to the class instructor on August 15, at 3pm.

The 24-year-old group gave the equipment to Kerry Clarke for her exercise classes in Worcester and Droitwich.

Mr Cooper said: "A defibrillator is a vitally important piece of kit. It can mean the difference between life and death in certain situations.

"I am very proud to present Kerry with this defibrillator in the fervent hope that you never have to use it, but if you do then it will have fulfilled its role.

"The main aim of the Worcester Heart Support Group is to provide support to cardiac patients and their families."

The group has 200 members and meets regularly on the second Wednesday of the month, in Norton Village Hall.

The county council, Droitwich Lions and Worcester Lions helped fund the defibrillator.
