HARMONY was assured for a happy couple on their wedding day - when they walked down the aisle to the vocal accompaniment of the Pershore-based Vale Harmony A Cappella Chorus.

The 15-strong male barbershop chorus serenaded newlyweds Richard and Carol Swann during the signing of the register with two of their favourite songs and then sang 'What a Wonderful World' as the happy couple left St James's Church, Defford, near Pershore.

Mr Swann said: "We heard Vale Harmony singing earlier in the year and loved their repertoire and their style.

"It just seemed right to invite them to sing for us at our wedding, and we were thrilled that they were able to do it for us."

Mrs Swann added: "It was wonderful. They sang so many songs for us, all of them beautiful, and the group were so much fun. They helped us create the perfect day."

Vale Harmony's musical director, Mike Gearey, from Droitwich, said: "It was an honour and a pleasure to sing for such a beautiful occasion and to entertain them at their reception afterwards."

Rev Canon Susan Renshaw, who conducted the wedding service, said: "It is always a pleasure to marry a local couple in their local church.

"Vale Harmony were pitch perfect and they certainly added to the volume of the hymn singing."
