A PUB landlord will take a plunge into the unknown after signing up for a fundraising skydive in aid of a children's charity.

Garry Fisher, 28, of the Crown, in Broad Street, Worcester, will fulfil a long-held ambition when he jumps from a plane on Saturday, August 27, in aid of children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

The crown is a Wetherspoons pub and the chain raises money for CLIC Sargent every year.

Mr Fisher said: "I have always wanted to do a skydive and when this opportunity presented itself I could not turn it down.

"I did a bungee jump when I was 17 and since then a skydive has been something I have really wanted to do.

"Every year we raise money for the charity as a pub but this year we wanted to do a bit extra this year and really try to make a difference.

"My wife Amanda visited one of the houses in Nottingham and saw what good work they (CLIC Sargent) do in supporting families.

"I have kids myself and I don't know where I would start if something were to happen to them.

"At the moment I am looking forward to it, but I'll probably be nervous when they open the door on the plane!"

So far, Mr Fisher of Sedge Close, St Johns, has raised £555 and he is now aiming to reach £750.

CLIC Sargent provides emotional, practical and financial support to young cancer patients and families during and after treatment, During 2015 it supported around 6,800 young cancer patients.
