MASKED raiders who burst into a Worcester house were armed with weapons including a baseball bat, a knife and a tyre iron police have revealed.

The Worcester News reported exclusively about the terrifying armed raid in Cranham Drive, Warndon, Worcester, which happened last Friday between 4pm and 4.30pm.

But now West Mercia Police has released more shocking details, including descriptions of two of the suspects, following the aggravated burglary when a group four or five men forced entry to the property.

The offenders were believed to be carrying a number of weapons, described as a tyre iron, baseball bat and a bladed weapon.

A struggle took place place between residents and the group of men during which three people were injured.

A 54- year-old female occupant sustained an injury to her elbow and was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for treatment.

A 30-year-old man was taken to the same hospital for treatment for a cut to his elbow.

Another 30-year-old man sustained a cut to his thumb but did not require further treatment.

Descriptions are only available for two of the men believed to be involved in the incident.

The first man is believed to be mixed race and in his mid-thirties. He is thought to be 6ft tall and of stocky build. He is described as having short hair

The other man is described as black and around 6ft tall. He is also believed to be of a stocky build. He wore his hair in loose dreadlocks to just below his ears and had a goatee beard with moustache.

Nothing was stolen from the property. The group of men are believed to have left the scene on foot in the direction of Tetbury Drive.

Detective Sergeant Christopher Percival, who is leading the investigation, said: "First and foremost I want to reassure the community that we are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident.

"Likewise, there is nothing to suggest that there is a threat to the wider public. To offer reassurance to the community there have been increased patrols in the area.

"If you have any information about this incident I would urge you to get in touch at the earliest opportunity."
