A MAN who absconded from a Worcestershire prison has been told by police to hand himself in,
Andrew Dawson, aged 36, absconded from HMP Hewell in Redditch.
He has served two years of a seven year and four month sentence for customs offences.
Dawson is described as a white man, approximately 6 foot 2 inches and of a large build.
He has light brown hair, short facial hair and blue eyes.
Det. Sgt Stuart Hawkeswood said: "We are urging Mr Dawson to hand himself in to the authorities as soon as possible.
"Similarly, we would like to hear from any members of the public who may have information about his whereabouts."
He asked people to call police on the non-emergency number 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"We would like remind the public that assisting someone in avoiding arrest could be a criminal offence which could result in prosecution."
