A TEENAGER is gutted after his rare and treasured bike was stolen from Worcester city centre while he went shopping for a present for his mum.

Sam Causley, aged 14, had the rare Kross mountain bike stolen from the bike rack outside Lloyds Bank in Worcester on Saturday (February 27).

The Nunnery Wood High School pupil had been shopping in Worcester, locking up his bike at around 2.30pm.

When he returned at around 4.30pm the chain had been cut and the prized bike stolen.

The family reported the theft to police half an hour later and hope eagle-eyed readers may have spotted the unusual Polish bike being ridden around the streets of Worcester.

Sam uses the bike to see his friends in Warndon and to keep fit and health, saving up the £500 to buy the bike by tutoring children in English and maths at the Lyppard Grange Community Centre in Ankerage Green, Warndon Villages.

He said: "I'm angry and disappointed in the person. I'm gutted because of how long it took me to save up for it.

"It took me 12 months. I was upset and annoyed when I discovered it had been stolen. I want it back.

"This is the first time I've ever had a bike stolen. It was one of my most treasured possessions.

"Saving up for the bike myself and seeing it arrive, that gave me a lot of pride."

The bike is a black and slate-grey Kross (model Level A6) with 27 gears and the serial number has also been passed to West Mercia Police.

Those with information about the theft can contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference 22CA -14800L-16.
