IT'S the first evening rush hour of 2016 and there's heavy traffic on the M5 near Halesowen and Oldbury and flood barriers in operation in Bewdley for Black Country and North Worcestershire motorists to contend with on the journey home from work.

An accident on the M5 northbound between J3 of the A456 (Halesowen / Birmingham) and J2 of the A4123 (Oldbury / Birmingham) left one lane blocked and has been causing delays.

Heavy traffic remains but all lanes have since been re-opened.

Meanwhile in Bewdley town centre, Worcestershire, Severn Side North has been closed due to the deployment of temporary flood barriers between Dog Lane and B4190 Load Street.

All shops and businesses have, however, been able to remain open as normal in the town centre.

Traffic on Stourbridge ring road was this evening flowing freely though, as captured in our video clip above.
