A man has died after being hit by a car reversing into a space at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, police confirmed today.

Ivan Tranter received treatment for a head injury after he was hit by a car while walking across the hospital’s car park at around 11am on November 3.

The 83-year-old, from Kingswinford, was released from hospital but his condition deteriorated and he was later taken to a Birmingham hospital, where he died on Friday (November 27) as a result of his injuries.

The driver of a 4x4 who stopped at the scene of a fatal Stourbridge crash last night (Sunday November 29) is being urged to come forward by police.

Officers were called the junction of High Street, Amblecote, and Brettell Lane at about 6.50pm last night following reports that a car had hit a man before driving away from the scene. 

A 66-year-old was treated by paramedics but despite their best efforts died a short time later.

A 22-YEAR-OLD Cradley Heath man has avoided jail after he viciously headbutted a man acting as peacemaker in an angry confrontation outside a Stourbridge pub.

Judge Kristin Montgomery QC told Joseph Stavin the argument had been fairly “muted” but he had decided to “up the ante” by turning verbal aggression into violence which left the victim scarred for life.

A man driving a powerful BMW sports car who was racing at 100mph when his rival ploughed into a bus stop killing a 21-year-old Black Country student has been cleared by a jury of causing death by dangerous driving.

Inderjit Singh maintained he had pulled out of the terrifying race – described as being like a Fast and Furious film – just seconds before the tragedy that claimed the life of Rebecca McManus from Oldbury.

Singh had pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Miss McManus by dangerous driving and also causing serious injury to her friend Harriet Barnsley as they waited for a bus on their way to a hen party in Birmingham.

But he did admit dangerous driving and Judge Kristin Montgomery QC warned him he could be facing time behind bars when he returns to Wolverhampton Crown Court to be sentenced.

One of two Australian nationals missing and now feared dead in Mexico was originally from Kidderminster, Shuttle reporter Gurdip Thandi has reported exclusively today.

Adam Coleman, who was born in Cookley, and his friend Dean Lucas were reported missing more than a week ago while on a road trip in Mexico.

They were last seen on November 20 in the coastal town Los Mochis and were said to be travelling to the city of Guadalajara.

But reports have emerged that the pair’s burnt out camper van, with two bodies inside, has been discovered in Sinaloa on the Pacific Coast.

Three men and two women beat up a vulnerable 66-year-old man in a Bromsgrove flat before one of them robbed him of £10, a court has been told.

Victim Mark Edwards, who has learning difficulties, was subjected to a nightmare attack when he went to the flat of 40-year-old Glynn Kendall in Austin Road on March 29 this year, Worcester Crown Court heard.

Mr Edward's injuries, which included two black eyes and a bruised ear, were only discovered the next day when his community health nurse visited.
