ORGANISERS of a Christmas market are hoping to raise money for youngsters at St Peter's First School in Droitwich.

Mum Nicky Faning and Kerri Moore have been hard at work arranging the fair, which will see dozens of stalls and activities fill the St Peter's Church Lane-based school on Friday, December 4.

Mrs Faning said: "The ultimate aim of the St Peter’s First School (FoSP) Christmas Market this year is to raise as much money as possible to enable the Children of the School to continue to have the best start in life with tools that help them read, write and learn.

"FoSP has always had a strong group, raising thousands over the years and this event is no different.

"The event is only made possible by those in the community who could support the event and of course those on the evening who can come along and spend some of their hard earned money on some of the many activities that are taking place

"The local business community have been amazing with their generosity and we would like to thank them all for supporting the children of St Peter’s First School in Droitwich."

The Great St Peters Bake Off, in which contestants compete for the title of best baker, will be judged on the night by the Reverend Beverley Jameson.

Anyone who wants to enter the Bake Off should bring their cakes to the school's gazebo from 3pm on Friday, December 4.

Along with the competition, there will be a Santa's Grotto, tombola, biscuit decorating, craft stalls, guess the weight of the Christmas pudding, mulled wine, mince pies, plenty of local businesses selling their wares and much, much more.

A raffle will also be held, sponsored by a host of local businesses, and the top prize is a £100 meat hamper from Booker.

Businesses taking part include Home Made Heaven, Usborne Books, Phoenix Trading, Rosie Philpott, Bluebells Florist, Barbourne Cider and Little Black Pig.

The Market will start at 5pm and run until 8pm.
