FIRE crews worked swiftly to extinguish a blaze at a farm building near Droitwich yesterday afternoon.
Four crews were called to Ditchford Bank Road in Hanbury at 3.50pm.
They found an agricultural building, which was used for storage, measuring 10 by 25 metres, "well alight".
Finding there were limited water supplies to tackle the fire, crews used the farm animals' drinking water.
Dan Quinn, group commander for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, posted pictures of the incident on Twitter.
He wrote: "The fire could have been a lot worse but for assertive firefighting. There were limited water supplies so crews improvised and used the livestock drinking water."
Two crews from Bromsgrove, one from Redditch, a water carrier from Evesham and a station officer attended the incident and they used two hose reel jets and compressed air foam, which takes the oxygen out of the fire, to extinguish the flames.
Fire crews left the scene at 5.30pm but the site was reinspected at 9.30pm.
