SUMMER might still be clinging on, but already in Wychbold, the search is on for this year’s Santa at Webbs Garden Centre. The centre is hunting for the perfect person to don the traditional red and white suit, and jolly attitude, to bring a little seasonal magic to its customers.

The somewhat unusual job description for the role includes being warm and friendly, being prepared for unexpected questions, and loving the magic of the Christmas season.

Webbs executive chairman Ed Webb, said: “White hair, a beard and a large belly are not essential but a hearty laugh and jolly personality will make all the difference. Children and families love the festive time at Webbs and meeting Father Christmas is the icing on the cake for most youngsters. It’s a magical time and our Father Christmas needs to match the figure of their dreams and make sure they have a memorable and enchanting time. A full outfit and training will of course be provided.”

With thousands of visitors expected in the grotto from November 14, Santa’s might be some big boots to fill.
