THERE are reports of long delays on the M5 near Worcestershire due to a serious carriageway defect this evening.
Two lanes of the southbound carriageway between junction nine Tewkesbury and Evesham and junction ten Cheltenham causing congestion.
Highways England said the lane closures were due to "serious carriageway defects" and are reporting delays of up to 50 minutes as emergency roadworks are carried out.
Kevin Holloway (@kevh46) tweeted @worcesternews to say: "Between junction 9 and 10 there is a massive ridge in the southbound carriageway, very dangerous. "It was like going over a big speed bump. There was 40 mph limit in place."
