X FACTOR judge Simon Cowell has laughed off any ratings rivalry with Strictly Come Dancing, joking about the BBC’s lack of a star-studded line-up.

The TV mogul has reprised his role on this year’s series of the ITV singing competition alongside Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, with Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw joining the panel, while celebrities such as Peter Andre, Jamelia and Daniel O’Donnell will be showing off their moves on the Strictly dancefloor.

The two shows are set to coincide during their live stages, with Simon describing the scheduling conflicts as “avoidable clashes”.

Loose Women panellist Sherrie Hewson, porn star Jenna Jameson and US TV stars Tila Tequila and Farrah Abraham are among the housemates in the new UK vs USA themed series of the Channel 5 reality show.

TV presenter Gail Porter, The Bill star Chris Ellison and reformed Hollywood bad boy Daniel Baldwin also entered the house tonight, along with Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, X Factor rejects Chloe Jasmine and Stevi Ritchie and former Apprentice contestant James Hill.

Justin Theroux has spoken out for the first time since tying the knot with Jennifer Aniston.

The pair – who became engaged in August 2012 – exchanged vows earlier this month in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles mansion, officiated by chat show host and old pal Jimmy Kimmel.

The awards, hosted by Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle, are part of the annual Edinburgh International Television Festival.

BBC One won Channel of the Year and BBC One’s drama series, Happy Valley, was named New Programme of the Year.

An ABBA piano which featured on the band’s most popular hits will go under the hammer next month.

Expected to sell for up to £800,000, the Bolin grand piano was played on Mamma Mia, Waterloo and Dancing Queen and its sound has resonated across dancefloors around the world.

It is the first major piece of ABBA material to be auctioned, and comes with a certificate of authentication signed by band member Benny Andersson who described the piano as a “great source of inspiration”.
