DIFFERENT groups which use space at St Andrew’s Church in Droitwich are clubbing together to help raise £50,000 needed to repair structural problems to the building’s roof.

The Droitwich Lions, which has held a monthly book sale at St Andrew’s for nearly 10 years recently donated the proceeds from one of its sales to help with the fundraising for the grade one listed building.

Another group of women who sell cakes and bric-a-brac to accompany the book sale, also decided to do the same, resulting in a combined donation of £450.

A spokesman for the Droitwich Lions said: “£50,000 is needed to restore the building, so it is more than pennies from heaven that are required, but hopefully our combined donation of £450 will start the ball rolling and the generous people of Droitwich will help to secure the future of this historically important building.”
