PEOPLE in Wychbold are being urged to contact Worcestershire Regulatory Services if they can’t cope with pets, after four puppies were found abandoned in a cardboard box at the side of the road.

The four puppies were discovered by a member of the public, who alerted the Worcestershire Dog Warden, after rushing them to a local vets.

The dogs were wormed, fed and watered and now they are all being cared for in a foster home, but Worcestershire Regulatory Services have warned that they could have been run over or worse.

Pip Singleton, who works for the service has urged people not to panic if they discover their pet is pregnant And fear they won’t be able to cope.

She said: “We are not here to judge you and all we want to do is help.

“These puppies were lucky - they could have escaped from the cardboard box and got run over and with the weather being so hot they could have died of dehydration or been caught up in the heavy storms, got soaked through and died of hypothermia.

“No defenceless animal deserves this so please think twice and get help.”

For any help with animals people are asked to contact the county’s dog warden on 01905 822799.
