A STUDENT at Droitwich Spa High School has celebrated her 17th birthday with the launch of her professional music career.

Lauren Bough, who records under the name of Lauren Nicole, released the video to support her first mini-album ‘Prada Shoes’ on July 5, the same day as her 17th birthday.

The five track EP, which was recorded at Bromsgrove’s Stancombe Studios, comes after Lauren has found local success in Droitwich, drawing in the crowds for a number of recent performances, and building a local following.

She also has a number of dates booked to perform in and around Pershore and Evesham over the summer at various festivals, and she has garnered 11,000 views of her music through her Facebook page.

She said: “There’s a nice symmetry about being 17 and having the video released on the same day. It’s been a lot of hard work but I am very pleased with the results of both the video and the album. I’m really looking forward to being able to share my music with a wider fan base.”

Lauren plays the guitar and the piano and sings on each of the five tracks on the album, with additional backing coming from producer Ben Stancombe. The album ‘Prada Shoes’ is available to download from iTunes and Spotify from, Sunday, July 12.
