STUDENTS from Droitwich Spa High School have taken on the challenge of walking Long Mynd in Shropshire as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

The 32 youngsters took part in a two day challenge to walk 30km along Long Mynd carrying everything they would need, including tents, food, water and clothing, whatever the weather.

Mike Tibbits who helped to coordinate the expedition, said: “The students did remarkably well. Although the sun did come out in the end, they had to put up with some very bad weather and remained cheerful and positive throughout. Me and the other staff involved are very proud of the way they conducted themselves.”

The walk forms the expedition quarter of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, along with volunteering, learning a new skill. And taking part in a physical activity.
