THIS weekend marks the return of the annual Flower Festival and Open Gardens in Tibberton.
Gardens across the village will be open to the public on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 from noon to 5pm, allowing people to get a glimpse of all kinds of plots from formal and cottage gardens, to orchards, and vegetable patches.
Visitors will be able to pick up ideas for their own gardens, as well as collecting hints and tips from fellow gardeners throughout the event.
Proceeds from the weekend are being donated to the village church of St Peter ad Vincula, which will also be open to the public, and hosting a flower festival featuring beautiful floral displays until 6pm on both days.
The village hall will be serving teas and homemade cakes, and visitors will be able to pick up an open garden ‘passport’ there, to show them a map of all the private gardens being opened to the public around the village, as well as having the chance to pick up a few bargains in a plant sale.
Tickets and the passports are £5 and can be purchased from Tibberton Post Office, the village hall and from the gardens.
