CHILDREN at the Salvation Army Pre-School in Droitwich held a ‘British Day’ recently to mark the anniversary of VE Day and mark the birth of a new princess.
The children dressed up as princes and princesses to acknowledge the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, and held a tea party similar to some of the parties held on the original VE Day in 1945.
The day, which also marked the birth of Princess Charlotte, saw children make their own crowns, and enjoy scones with jam and cream, as well as traditional cucumber sandwiches.
They also listened to war songs from the Second World War, and made their own ration books.
