THE next event on Droitwich Spa’s summer festival calendar is the Food and Drink Festival which will take-over the town centre on Saturday, June 20, with stalls lining the streets, selling tasty treats from local producers as well as more exotic fare from further afield.

This year the festival is set to have a celebrity presence with Tom Parker-Bowles, Mail on Sunday columnist and food editor of Esquire magazine, and BBC Masterchef food critic Charles Campion due to open the festival.

Last year the food festival made it into the top three for the Visit Worcestershire Awards, and organiser Patrick Davis is hoping to build on that success.

He said: “This year’s festival is building up to be a fantastic event with 120 local food and drink producers; a food demonstration kitchen; Catering Food Village in Victoria Square; Kids Food Zone and Street Entertainment throughout the day. There really will be something for everyone. This year we also have a Beer and Cider Festival taking place on Sunday, June 21 in Vines Park so it is going to be a great weekend.”
