HERE’S what’s you need to know in the Black Country and North Worcestershire this Wednesday morning.

An explosion followed by a huge fire has torn through a Redditch roofing business resulting in one person being hospitalised and others injured.

The major blaze, which could be seen from areas as far away as Wythall, engulfed RM Contractors in Park Farm Industrial Estate on Pipers Road, last Friday about 12.20pm.

Four fire engines from Hereford and Worcestershire as well as two from Warwickshire were called out in an attempt to get the fire under control.

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found with multiple stab wounds at an Oldbury fast food restaurant.

The man was found with the stab wounds at the McDonald's in Wolverhampton Road just after 5.30pm this afternoon, (May 5).

Officers were sent to the scene and sealed off the area.

Hundreds of Britain First supporters are expected to descend on Dudley on Saturday (May 9) but the leader has told anxious business owners "there is no need to cease trading".

The far right political party will assemble at Flood Street car park at 1pm before marching to the steps of Dudley Council House, Priory Road, to protest plans for a new mosque.

When the EDL held a similar protest in February, many worried town traders boarded up their shops and refused to open for fear of their livelihoods being vandalised.

The accident happened southbound between Junction 2, Alvechurch, and Junction 1 Bromsgrove at around 5pm.

The sun shone in time for this year’s annual Discover Bewdley Spring Fair over the Bank Holiday.

Visitors and residents of Bewdley packed into the streets on Sunday and Monday to celebrate spring, and Bewdley Development Trust, organisers of the 10th fair, were delighted at the turnout.

Katherine Davis, trust manager, said: “Everywhere you turned people were exploring Bewdley past and present, and enjoying themselves.
