Half of 18 unidentified Hillsborough heroes came forward within 24 hours of a police appeal being launched.

Hillsborough investigators issued the appeal to track down 18 people who fought to save some of the 96 fans that died in the 1989 disaster.

Bromsgrove resident Andrew Brookes, aged 26 at the time, was one of 96 who died at the stadium that staged Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final match against Nottingham Forest.

Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has pledged £50,000 of funding throughout the next two years to each of the borough’s Patient Participation Groups (PPG).

Through the PPG Purse Grant Programme, a budget of up to £1,000 has been made available to help support the growth and development of local patient groups.

The Droitwich branch of Morrison’s supermarket has received a £500,000 make-over to improve the butchers, bakers, fishmonger, deli and greengrocer sections.

The work, which took five days to complete, also saw several other departments being introduced or extended including a new beers, wines and spirits section, a new health and beauty section, a refreshed ‘free from’ section for people with food allergies and intolerances, and the extension of the clothing section.
