PET lovers across Droitwich are being invited to join in with a Paws for Tea bake sale at the Blue Cross charity shop on St Andrew’s Street.

The bake sale will see staff at the shop putting on their frilliest aprons and getting into the kitchen to cook up some tasty treats, before opening up the shop on Saturday, May 2 from 10am to 4pm for some fun.

Visitors to the shop will be able to pick up delicious cakes for a donation, with all the money raised going toward the charity’s work with sick and homeless pets.

Nicky Carr, Blue Cross shop manager in Droitwich, said: “Blue Cross cares for over 40,000 sick, injured and homeless pets every year and it’s events like Paws for Tea that make it possible.

“Enjoying a slice of cake and a cup of tea has never been so rewarding, all money raised will go towards pets in need. It’s the purr-fect excuse to treat yourself.”

Local pet owners are also being asked to help the charity by organising their own tea parties.

Ms Carr added: “Whether people come along to our tea party, or host one of their own, we hope lots of people will get involved with this year’s event.”
