The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley has launched its own ale, named after its historic pub.

Brewed by Lye based brewery Sadler’s, the new 4.3 per cent ale is named after the museum's 239-year-old Bottle & Glass Inn, which previously stood in Stourbridge before it was rebuilt at the Tipton Road tourist attraction.

An online fundraising page has been set up to help a Stourbridge couple who have been left gutted after their aviary full of 80 birds was destroyed in a blaze.

Fire ripped through the 18ft building in the back garden of Steve and Jill Harborne’s home in Bredon Avenue in the early hours of April 8.

Although the couple managed to put the fire out themselves, they were unable to save the birds in time.

All-singing all dancing Kinver performers are aiming to be a cut above when they present the Midlands debut of Hairspray.

Kinver Light Operatic Society stars will be bringing the colourful musical to life at Edgecliff High School, Enville Road, from May 11 to May 16; there's also a matinee on the 16th as well as an evening performance.

Staff at one of the last Kidderminster youth centres have been handed their redundancy notices as it prepares to close at the end of next month.

Having been running The Y Centre, in Dowles Road, since 2005, the YMCA will be leaving in May because they were unable to get anymore funding from Worcestershire County Council.

Group tutoring sessions for children struggling with school work are being launched in Cradley Heath.

Mother-of two Lotifa Khatun is hoping to attract primary school-aged children who need extra help, but whose parents cannot afford a private tutor.

Mrs Khatun, a qualified tutor of Coombe Hill, is launching her sessions in Tesco’s community room with a drop in community fun day on Saturday May 2.

Three electric vehicle chargepoints have been installed in Worcestershire by the county council as part of a government-funded initiative to encourage more people to switch to using the more environmentally friendly motors.

The chargepoints at County Hall in Worcester, Webbs garden centre at Wychbold and Evesham Leisure Centre were recently switched on.

Over the coming months the plan is to install a further nine chargepoints at the Crowngate shopping centre and St Martin's Gate car park in Worcester, Evesham Country Park, Chateau Impney hotel in Droitwich, Greenlands Business Centre and Abbey Stadium in Redditch, and at the Weaver's Wharf retail park in Kidderminster.

A prisoner on the run from a Worcestershire prison for almost three weeks has been caught.

Anthony Robinson was serving a four-and-a-half year sentence at HMP Hewell, near Redditch, when he escaped custody on Sunday March 29.
